Message from UTC Sheffield City Centre

We have increased student online learning using Teams as the predominant method of delivery. This may be supplemented with face to face delivery on site in the coming weeks, for those students who require additional support. All students have been sent information on how to download and set up Teams. Should any student have difficulties with this, please contact admin@utcsheffield.org.uk and we will address your query as soon as possible. Therefore, our offer of face to face teaching, in line with government advice is that we will invite key worker/vulnerable/students who cannot access online delivery.

Please see the Letters page and the Covid-19 Update page for more information.

In these unprecedented times, we are sorry that we are unable to run the parents evening on 15 July 2020.  If you have any pressing concerns, please contact admin@utcsheffield.org.uk

Rosemary, Creative & Digital

‘When I first came to UTC it was such a new experience, everything was so exciting, there were lots of different and new opportunities. It’s really different to my school before.’

UTC student Rosemary Ridley already knows her career will be in the creative industries.

Rosemary has completed a technical qualification in Creative and Digital Media alongside her GCSEs. On opening her results, she said, ‘They were what I was expecting, I’m happy.’

Now she has completed her GCSEs Rosemary is moving to sixth form to study for her A Levels in Art, Textiles and German. After her A Levels, Rosemary hopes to go into costume design: ‘I’ve enjoyed the design element at UTC, like when we designed a DVD cover and when we created our own film trailers. It’s a different hands-on experience that I’ve not had before.’

Rosemary joined the UTC after visiting and remembers thinking that the UTC looked really exciting: ‘When I first came it was such a new experience, everything was so exciting, there were lots of different and new opportunities. It’s really different to my school before.’
