Georgia, Sport Science
Georgia McKeiver is one of the first students to successfully complete their studies at UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park.
The 18-year-old, from Rotherham, has achieved three A Levels in biology, chemistry and psychology at grades C, C and D and has a distinction grade in a technical qualification in sport science.
Georgia is going onto study at the Royal Veterinary College in London. Her career ambition is to become an equine vet in the Army.
Georgia has a place on the RVC’s Veterinary Gateway course, which focuses on developing analytical, problem solving and practical skills in the biological sciences as well as study, team working and communication skills.
Students are introduced to the handling and husbandry of animals. On successfully completion of that course, they are then given a place on the RVC Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine degree programme.
Georgia said: “I’m absolutely over the moon! It’s been really exciting to be part of the first group of students to study at UTC Sheffield. I’ve really enjoyed the teaching and facilities. It’s been a fantastic opportunity for me and I’m looking forward to going onto the RVC.”
Dr Sarah Clark, Principal, UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, said: “Georgia has been a hardworking and tenacious student. We are delighted that she has been able to secure a place at a prestigious university to support her ambitions in the animal science sector.”
