UTC OLP Students Take Part in Shakespeare School Festival

A number of our Year 10 students visited Oxford University over the Easter period to take part in the Shakespeare Schools Festival.

As part of the festival they performed their own staging of Macbeth in front of other schools and were able to watch performances of Shakespeare plays by students from other schools.

Students received fantastic feedback from Tom Barker from Magdalen College, University of Oxford, he said:

“I would like to send my sincerest congratulations to UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park for your wonderful production of Macbeth as part of the Spring 22 Shakespeare Schools Festival. It was a brilliant evening of theatre.”

Continuing: “What a fantastic performance! This was a brilliant ensemble piece in which the entire group came together to tell this story clearly with some fantastic stage images. I particularly liked the opening and closing battles, the physicality of the witches, the party scene before Duncan’s murder, and the death of Banquo. All of these moments were illustrated with really strong images that guided us through the story.”

You can read his feedback in full here.

The programme was led at UTC OLP by one of our English Teachers, Miss Kardel, who inspired, motivated and guided the students with her expertise throughout the programme. We are incredibly proud of what our students achieved!
