UTC Sport Science Student Selected to Represent South Yorkshire Boys U16 in Football
Year 11 Sport Science Student, Harry Skyes, has been successfully selected to represent South Yorkshire Boys U16 in Football. Harry is a talented footballer who is currently playing for Rotherham United’s Academy. Playing for South Yorkshire Boys’ Team is a fantastic achievement, where he will go toe to toe with other players selected to play for their region.
Harry commented: “I’m looking forward to travelling up and down the country doing something I love.”
Teacher of PE, Mr Moorwood said, “Congratulations to Harry! Joining this Team is a fantastic achievement, as they play football at a high standard. This will be a strong platform for him to progress further in his football career. If Harry continues to work hard, I think he will be good enough to be considered as an English schoolboy, which means he’ll play for England.”
Within our Sport Science specialism at UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, you will develop a scientific understanding how sport, exercise and lifestyle affects the body. You will look at ways to improve training and fitness and apply this to sporting professionals and the general public as well as improving you own sporting ability and fitness.
The UTC encourages all students to pursue a career in the subject area they are studying and are most passionate about, by developing transferable skills, which will help to prepare them for their future.
Through studying Sport Science, you could become an Elite Athlete, Physiotherapist, Sports Journalist, Coach, Personal Trainer, or even a Sports Analysist. The UTC will not only prepare you for all these options, but also for the careers of tomorrow.
