South Yorkshire Teenagers Invited To Life Beyond GCSEs Careers Evening

Teenagers are being urged to think about life beyond exams and attend a higher education careers evening.

Some of the region’s top universities as well as local colleges and employers will be in attendance.

Celebrity boyband New Kings Order, from The X Factor, will be making a special appearance and staging a live performance.

Hosted by our UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park campus, the careers evening is on November 27th, from 5pm to 7pm. It will provide the latest information on higher education including apprenticeships and degree courses.

Sarah Clark, Principal of UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, said: “We are delighted to host this higher education event which will provide a fantastic opportunity for students from across the region to find out about the exciting careers and subject options available to them beyond their GCSEs.”

The event is aimed at students in Year 11 and their parents/carers as they get ready to take their GCSEs and start thinking beyond their exams..

Around 20 organisations are attending including University of Huddersfield, University of Leeds, University of Nottingham, University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University, Longley Park Sixth Form College, The Sheffield College, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the Higher Education Progression Partnership South Yorkshire (HeppSY+).

Visitors will also be able to find out about our Post 16 offer at UTC during a presentation.
