The £10 million facility for 600 students, aged 14 to 19, on Attercliffe Common, is being built on the Olympic Legacy Park and is due to open this September.

A showcase event will take place on Wednesday, February 17th, from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, at Sheffield Hallam University in the Heartspace Atrium, Owen Building, City Campus.

Guests will meet Sarah Clark, Principal, UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park campus, find out about courses, careers and progressing to university, and be able to try hands-on practical activities. To book your place, click here or call 0114 2603970.

Nick Crew, Executive Principal, UTC Sheffield, said: “Construction is progressing well as the steel frame rapidly takes shape on the Sheffield skyline. The UTC will offer great careers for young people across the region in sectors that are growing.”

The Sheffield College is the lead sponsor of the UTC. Sheffield Hallam University and Sheffield Chamber of Commerce and Industry are co sponsors. BAM Construction is building the facility. It has been designed by Bond Bryan Architects.

Jason Pepper, Executive Director of Finance and Resources, The Sheffield College, said: “We are committed to future proofing the city through this visionary project, and working with partners to ensure the next generation have strong career prospects in sectors that support regional business growth.”

The UTC curriculum has been designed with employers. Students complete a technical qualification in addition to GCSEs and A Levels. Places are still available for young people interested in joining this September in Year 10 at the age of 14, or in Year 12 at the age of 16. Visit
