UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park campus, on Old Hall Road, for 14 to 19-year-olds, opened this September.

The £10 million facility specialises in computing, health sciences and sport science. Students complete technical as well as academic qualifications.

Principal Sarah Clark said: “We are delighted to host such a high profile programme, and to welcome the public to our fantastic new facilities that are breathing new life into this area of the city and investing in the next generation.”

She added: “The opportunity to observe and become involved in current issues and political debate supports the fostering of skills at the UTC such as the ability to analyse information, construct arguments and become confident speakers. These competencies are highly valued by both employers and universities and support our students to be successful in the future.”
