UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is running a series of virtual events for applicants.  Young people, and parents and carers, can find out about our exciting specialisms and hear from the Principal, Curriculum Director, staff and our employer partners.

Computing:  Tuesday 10th November, 5:30-6:20pm

Health Sciences and Social Care: Wednesday 18th November, 5:30-6:20pm

Sport Science: Tuesday 24th November, 5:30-6:20pm

UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park is also offering pre-booked on-site campus tours, strictly for one family (six people maximum) at a time, on November 3rd, 5th, 10th 12th, 17th, 19th, 24th, 26th from 4pm to 6pm. Pre-booking is essential. Visitors will need to comply with Covid-19 safety measures including wearing face coverings and social distancing. Please visit our events page.

UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park Students Set To Enjoy Exciting Two Week Induction

Students joining UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park this September will enjoy a two-week induction programme. The induction will involve trips to employer partners as well as team bonding activities for both staff and students. After the induction students will move into the brand new state-of-the-art purpose built campus, equipped with a 3D motion capture facility, fitness and health suite, operational ambulance bay, user experience lab and much more.

Students following the Health Sciences Pathway:

Year 10 Health Sciences students will spend one day visiting the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, during the day they will focus on taking patient history, undertaking CPR and learn tips for improving communication skills.  A second day will see the students visit Sheaf Training to look at vital signs, infection control and alternative communication methods linked to patient history.

Year 12 Health Sciences students will attend two days hosted at the Northern General Hospital, these will provide an introduction to healthcare including disciplines such as neurophysiology, respiratory, cardiology, medical imaging and medical physics.

Students following the Sport Sciences Pathway:

Both Year 10 and Year 12 Sports Science students will visit Sheffield Hallam University Collegiate campus for an introduction to the Academy of Sport and Physical Activity undertaking activities that will later link to units of study and employer projects.

Students following the Computing Pathway:

Year 10 Computing students will attend two study days at Sheffield College, whilst there they will focus on computing tasks linked to logical problem solving and computational thinking. Students will also have the opportunity to have a go at a range of activities in the Lego Robotics Suite.

Students in Year 12 studying Computing will have a go at similar activities but with a greater emphasis on research, testing and higher level problem solving.

All UTC Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park Students: 

All UTC students and staff will participate in an activities day at the English Institute of Sport. Tours of EIS will be followed by a choice of activities, including either ice skating, coaching in trackside activities or the challenge of the high ropes course.
