Will Noble has started an electrical apprenticeship after completing his studies at UTC Sheffield City Centre.
The 18-year-old has achieved a distinction distinction grade in a technical qualification in engineering. Now he is learning as he earns in the workplace at Output Engineering Limited, based at the Iron Works in Sheffield, whilst completing an engineering apprenticeship at Level 3.
“I feel very pleased with my result of double distinction and can’t thank the teachers enough for helping me achieve that grade,” said Will, who joined the UTC in Year 10 at the age of 14.
He added: “I enjoy learning hands-on skills in the workplace and was keen to get into the industry straight away. I’m really pleased to have secured an apprenticeship so soon after finishing my studies and I’ve settled in well. My ambition is to become a fully qualified electrical engineer.”

Paul Niven, Principal Engineer and Director at Output Engineering Ltd, added: “It’s been a great opportunity for us to work with UTC Sheffield City Centre and it’s clear that William has learnt some valuable skills which have been easily and quickly useable within his role.
He added: “The skills are relevant and up-to-date with current engineering practices, which has in turn meant that William has been instantly value adding to the company. We’re pleased that William has joined the company and I’m sure that he’ll have an excellent career in engineering ahead of him.”
