UTC Staff Governor, Steve Schofield
Hello, my name is Steve Schofield and I teach A-level and GCSE English here at UTC Sheffield. I have been teaching for 19 years, the last 10 in the 16-19 sector. I moderate A-level English Language for one of the main exam boards, this year will be my 7th year on the team. A UTC would have been my choice at 14, I left school and attended a technical college and became a qualified motor vehicle technician and remained in the profession until my early 20s. Moving into teaching was something I had always considered, and I genuinely enjoy my job. I became the Staff Governor because I want to be as involved as I can in the journey for this fantastic College, and I also understand the importance of communication across all parts of college life.
Parent Governor, Simon Jackson
Hi, my name is Simon Jackson and I am a Parent Governor. I spent many years working in the Insurance Industry both in Sheffield & Leeds, and currently work for Royal Mail. I have been involved with the UTC from an early stage, taking part in focus groups prior to commencement of work on the building. My daughter is currently studying Creative & Digital Media and my son Advanced Engineering. The UTC has made an Excellent start and provides a Unique Opportunity for students aged 14+ across our region.
